Inside Passage transports guests to Seattle's most immersive underwater cocktail experience, inside a sunken ship beneath the waves. Hidden behind a secret door in Rumba, our Capitol Hill deep-sea lounge features theatrical cocktails with elaborate presentations, from glowing treasure chests trailing dry ice to drinks served in sea creature-shaped vessels.
Named after the historic sailing route from Seattle to Alaska, Inside Passage reimagines tropical cocktail culture through a Pacific Northwest lens. Our giant sea creature Kiki watches over intimate booths crafted by renowned designer Notch Gonzalez, while bartenders create spectacular drinks inspired by local landmarks like Mount Rainier, The Goonies, and MOHAI, and even a cocktail that digs on Amazon's excessive packaging all over our great city. It's a sight to behold, let alone experience.

As a bar, Inside Passage is restricted to ages 21+ with valid ID required. We follow WA State Liquor Control Board requirements in regard to acceptable identification for alcohol consumption/bar entry. We must see a physical ID and cannot accept drivers' licenses from outside the US and Canada. You can see the list of accepted ID here.
Due to our small space, Inside Passage can only accommodate parties of six guests or fewer. However, Rumba, next door, takes online reservations for groups as large as eight. For larger groups at Rumba, please email us at Rumba@rumbaonpike.com
Yes! While a reservation will help you get in without a wait, we do leave the bar top and some tables available for walk-ins and offer a waitlist once seats fill up. You can enjoy a drink at Rumba while you wait or we will notify you by text when seats become available.
Reservations can be made via Open Table here. We take reservations up to 6 weeks in advance. They cut off at 4pm for that day’s service. If you are looking for same-day availability after 4pm, just come on in for a walk-in spot. Weeknights rarely have a wait.
Reservations are for the following durations:
1-3 people - 1 hour 30 min | 4-6 people - 2 hours
Due to the intimate (and fiery!) nature of the space and experience, groups for Inside Passage are limited to 6 people maximum. Multiple reservations to extend party size, may result in all reservations being cancelled. For larger parties and private bookings, please email insidepassage@rumbaonpike.com for availability and pricing.
Reservations require a credit card to book. If plans change, please be sure to cancel or modify your reservation before the day of your booking. No-shows and same-day cancellations will be charged $20 per person.
Absolutely! While the largest table we can reserve during regular service seats 6 guests, we offer private event options for groups up to 35 people. Please email us for availability and additional details.
insidepassage@rumbaonpike.comInside Passage adds a 20% service charge to all checks, which is retained in full by the house. Our dining room staff is compensated through a commission on all food and beverage sales. Tipping is not required, however, if you choose to leave an additional tip, it will go directly to that evening’s service team.
